The Four Sacred Pillars

Every DevDeva stone is aligned with one of four universal human intentions. These four pillars are not categories — they are the deepest questions of the human heart, asked across every culture and every century.

When we designed the DevDeva collection, we asked one question: what do people truly want? Not what they say they want — not the surface requests — but what the soul asks for in its quietest moments. The answer came back in four words: to be safe, to have enough, to be loved, to be at peace.

These four intentions have been the foundation of spiritual practice across every tradition for thousands of years. They correspond to the four classical elements. They map onto the chakra system. They echo through the teachings of every wisdom lineage on earth. They are not arbitrary — they are the architecture of human longing. And for each one, the earth has provided specific stones that carry that frequency.

PILLAR 01Raksha

Protection

Shield Your Energy. Ground Your Spirit.

In every spiritual tradition on earth, the first prayer is for protection. Before abundance, before love, before peace — the soul asks first to be safe. Protection is not the absence of challenge; it is the unshakeable knowing that you are held, no matter what comes.

Ancient Wisdom

Ancient warriors wore gemstones into battle not as decoration but as armour for the spirit. The Egyptians carved scarabs from black stone to ward off evil. The Tibetans strung turquoise into protective amulets. The Hindu tradition consecrated specific stones to powerful deities whose energy could shield their devotees from harm both seen and unseen.

Modern Meaning

Today, protection means something more subtle: shielding your energy from negativity, toxic environments, and the psychic drain of modern life. It means staying grounded when the world moves too fast. It means knowing your boundaries and having the strength to hold them.

✦ Sacred Mantra

Om Dum Durgayei Namaha

"I invoke the protective energy of the divine"

Sacred Stones

Black TourmalineSri Lanka / Brazil

The Master Protector

The most powerful protective stone in the mineral kingdom. Black Tourmaline creates an energetic force field around its wearer, transmuting negative energy before it can take root. Favoured by healers who work in challenging environments and by those who are highly sensitive to the energy of others.

Tiger's EyeSouth Africa

Courage & Grounding

The stone of the warrior. Tiger's Eye combines the grounding energy of earth with the dynamic power of the sun, giving its wearer both the clarity to see danger and the courage to face it. It is especially powerful for those who need to make difficult decisions with calm certainty.

Lapis LazuliAfghanistan

Truth & Spiritual Shield

Worn by Egyptian pharaohs as protection for the journey into the afterlife, Lapis Lazuli guards the third eye and throat chakra — protecting the truth-teller and the visionary from those who would silence them. It strengthens discernment and protects against deception.

Each morning, hold your protection stone in your left hand (the receiving hand).

2

Take three deep breaths, feeling the weight of the stone grounding you to the earth.

3

Wealth

Attract Abundance in All Its Forms.

True wealth is not merely financial — it is the feeling of sufficiency, of flow, of life moving in your favour. The wealth pillar works with the universal law of abundance: that there is more than enough for all, and that specific energies open us to receive what we deserve.

Ancient Wisdom

Across Asia, the pursuit of abundance has always been a spiritual practice. In India, Lakshmi — goddess of wealth, beauty, and fortune — is invoked daily by millions who understand that prosperity begins in consciousness. In China, jade has been the supreme stone of abundance for 7,000 years. In Thailand, the sacred yantra and blessed amulets attract prosperity in every home and business.

Modern Meaning

The wealth pillar is for those who are ready to shift their relationship with money, success, and abundance — from scarcity and struggle to flow and sufficiency. It is for the entrepreneur, the creative, the person who knows they are meant for more and wants to align their energy with that calling.

Burmese JadeMyanmar

The Supreme Abundance Stone

For over 7,000 years, Burmese Jadeite has been the most prized gemstone in Asia, revered as a direct channel to the energy of abundance and divine favour. Chinese emperors were buried in jade suits. Thai royalty wore jade for protection and prosperity. Its energy is steady, ancient, and profoundly reliable.

CitrineBrazil

The Merchant's Stone

Called the Merchant's Stone because shopkeepers in medieval Europe kept it in their cash drawers. Citrine carries the energy of the sun — bright, optimistic, generative. It does not accumulate negative energy and does not need cleansing. It is the stone of manifestation, imagination, and personal will.

Tiger's EyeSouth Africa

Confident Action

Wealth is not just about attraction — it requires bold action. Tiger's Eye provides the clarity to see opportunity and the courage to seize it. It aligns intention with action, making it the perfect stone for those who want to turn their visions into tangible results.

2

Hold your wealth stone over the paper and charge it with your intention for 3 minutes.

Love

Open Your Heart to Give and Receive.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe — and the most misunderstood. The love pillar works not by attracting a specific person, but by opening the heart to love in all its forms: self-love, romantic love, compassion for others, and the deep recognition of our fundamental interconnectedness.

Ancient Wisdom

In every culture, specific stones have been associated with the heart. The ancient Romans consecrated rose quartz to Venus, goddess of love. In Ayurvedic tradition, rhodochrosite was prescribed for those whose hearts had closed after grief. Moonstone has been exchanged between lovers for millennia as a symbol of cyclical devotion. The wisdom is consistent: certain stones carry the frequency of love.

Modern Meaning

The love pillar is for anyone who wants to deepen their capacity for intimacy — with themselves, with a partner, with life itself. It heals old heartbreak, dissolves the walls we build in self-protection, and restores the soft, open quality of heart that allows real connection to occur.

✦ Sacred Mantra

Om Hreem Shreem Kleem Namaha

"I call forth the energy of divine love into my heart"

Sacred Stones

Rose QuartzBrazil / Madagascar

Unconditional Love

The supreme stone of the heart. Rose Quartz vibrates at the frequency of unconditional love — the love that has no conditions, no expectations, no agenda. It heals heartbreak, dissolves resentment, and gently restores trust in love after it has been lost. It works first on self-love, which is the foundation of all healthy love.

RhodochrositeArgentina / South Africa

Heart Healing

Called the Stone of the Compassionate Heart, Rhodochrosite specialises in healing deep emotional wounds — the kind that have calcified over years into walls and defences. Its energy is gentle but penetrating, reaching the places in the heart that other stones cannot access. It is recommended for those healing from loss, betrayal, or childhood wounds.

MoonstoneSri Lanka / India

Divine Feminine & Intuition

Moonstone is the stone of the divine feminine — of cycles, intuition, and the emotional intelligence that makes true intimacy possible. It deepens empathy, enhances emotional communication, and helps us attune to the subtle rhythms of our own hearts and those of the people we love.

The Heart Opening Ritual

1

Find a quiet moment in the evening. Sit comfortably with your spine upright.

2

Place your love stone directly over your heart chakra (centre of the chest).

3

Take ten slow, conscious breaths, allowing each exhale to soften the chest.

4

On each inhale, breathe in the feeling of being loved completely as you are.

5

On each exhale, release anything that is not love — any old hurt, any armour.

6

End by placing both hands over your heart and saying: "I am worthy of love."

PILLAR 04Shanti

Peace

Cultivate Stillness That Cannot Be Shaken.

Peace is not the absence of difficulty — it is the presence of an inner stillness that remains stable regardless of outer circumstance. The peace pillar works with the deepest layer of consciousness: the awareness that watches all experience without being defined by any of it.

Ancient Wisdom

The Sanskrit word shanti — peace — is chanted three times at the end of every Hindu prayer: shanti, shanti, shanti. For body, mind, and spirit. For the peace within, the peace between us, and the peace that pervades all of existence. Buddhist traditions use specific stones in meditation beads to calm the mind. Amethyst has been used for over 4,000 years as a stone of sober, clear consciousness.

Modern Meaning

In a world of constant noise, notification, and urgency, peace is perhaps the most radical and most needed of the four pillars. The peace pillar is for the anxious mind that cannot stop, the sensitive soul overwhelmed by the world, and anyone who wants to develop the practice of true stillness — not as escape, but as foundation.

✦ Sacred Mantra

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

"Peace in body, mind, and spirit — for all beings"

Sacred Stones

AmethystBrazil / Uruguay

Calm & Spiritual Clarity

The pre-eminent stone of peace and spiritual clarity. Amethyst calms an overactive mind, transmutes anxiety into serenity, and opens the third eye to higher states of awareness. It was worn by medieval European clergy to symbolise humility and spiritual wisdom. It is the perfect stone for meditation, sleep, and any practice that requires turning inward.

Clear QuartzBrazil / Arkansas

The Master Healer

Clear Quartz is called the Master Healer because it amplifies whatever energy or intention is placed within it. For peace, it acts as a clarifier — dissolving the fog of confusion and overwhelm to reveal the clear, still awareness that is always present beneath the noise. It resonates with all chakras and all intentions.

MoonstoneSri Lanka / India

Emotional Balance

Moonstone brings the cyclical wisdom of the moon to our emotional life: the understanding that every feeling, like every moon phase, is temporary. This perspective — that nothing is permanent — is one of the deepest sources of peace available to us. Moonstone helps us hold our emotions with spaciousness rather than being swept away by them.

The Peace Meditation

1

Sit quietly for 5 minutes before bed each night — even 5 minutes is transformative.

2

Hold your peace stone in both hands, feeling its cool solidity anchor you to the present.

3

Close your eyes. Notice the sounds around you without labelling them as good or bad.

4

Notice your breath — just the sensation of air entering and leaving. Nothing else.

5

When thoughts arise, simply notice them: "thinking" — and return to the breath.

6

End by setting one intention for tomorrow. Then let the day go completely.

The Deeper Truth

The Four Are One

In practice, the four pillars are inseparable. You cannot be truly wealthy if you do not feel safe. You cannot experience real love if you have no inner peace. You cannot sustain peace if you feel the constant threat of lack. Each pillar feeds the others.

The most profound DevDeva practice is to work with all four — either by wearing multiple stones, or by cycling through the pillars as your life calls for each one. Some seasons of life demand protection. Others call for abundance. Others for the courage to love or the grace to be still.

The stones do not tell you what to feel. They support whatever you are genuinely working with. They are companions on the path, not replacements for the walking.
